Meet the Doctor:

Terry E. Owen, DDS -

Dr. Owen grew up in Hay Springs and Rushville, Nebraska. After graduating from Rushville High School, he attended Union College in Lincoln, NE where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. The University of Nebraska College of Dentistry was his next educational stop and after receiving his degree in 1974, he headed west to Chadron where he established his dental practice. Dr. Owen is a member of the American Dental Association, Nebraska Dental Association, and United States Dental Institute where he took continuing education in orthodontics.

Dr. Owen and his wife, Brenda, have three children who have followed him in the career of dentistry. Zachary – an Oral Surgeon, Lacey – a dental hygienist, and Jonathan – a dentist.

Joining our office in the summer of 2009 will be Dr. Owen's son, Dr. Jonathan Owen. He is currently enrolled in Dental School at the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he will be graduating in May of 2009. He and his wife, Kimmi, look forward to making Chadron their home and continuing the tradition of Owen Family Dentistry.

Meet the Staff:

Brenda Owen - Office Manager

Brenda Owen grew up in Okeene, Oklahoma and attended college at Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. There she received her degree in music education with an emphasis on the organ. Also at Union she met Terry, her future husband! They were married in 1973 and moved to Chadron in 1978 after Terry finished dental school. She has been involved in the dental practice since it opened, but has been there full-time since 1996. She still spends as much time as possible playing the piano and talking to the flowers in her garden!

Chrystal Underwood - Scheduling Coordinator

Chrystal Underwood is our Scheduling Coordinator / Certified Dental Assistant working with us since 1999 and is also a native to Chadron. She is married to Chad Underwood and has 3 children, Taylor, Peyton, and Braden.

Kelly Stewart - Certified Dental Assistant

Kelly Stewart is a Certified Dental Assistant who has been with our team since 1991 and is a native to Chadron. She is married to Bart and has one son, Jason.

Cristina Hughes - Dental Assistant

Cristina Hughes is a Dental Assistant working with us since October 2006. She came with a special set off skills as she was a Dentist in Mexico prior to moving to the United States with her husband Ed in 2001. She and her husband have a son, Tommy.

Shauna Kutschara - Hygienist, RDH

Shauna Kutschara is our dental hygienist working with us since 2001. She graduated from Central Community College in 1995 with her hygiene degree and from Chadron State College in 2004 with a Bachelor in Legal Studies. She is married to Carl Kutschara and has two children, Scout and Aran.

Lacey Owen - Hygienist, RDH

Lacey Owen is another dental hygienist working with us since January 2007. She was born and raised in Chadron and worked in our office off and on throughout high school and college. She received her Bachelors in Dental Hygiene from University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2003. In her spare time, she plays with her two Great Danes, Kya and Duke, and loves riding her horse Skipper.
