Cavity Laser Detector - Diagnodent
The diagnodent is a major breakthrough that allows Dr. Owen to detect tooth decay that x-rays cannot see. We can now locate
hidden decay in it's earliest stage, and with treatment stop the spread of the
disease before it destroys the tooth from within.
Root Canals
Once upon a time, if you had a tooth with a diseased nerve, you'd probably lose that tooth. Today, with a special dental procedure called a root canal therapy you may save that tooth. Inside each tooth is the pulp which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth, it runs like a thread down throught the root. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If you don't remove it, your tooth gets infected and you could lose it. After Dr. Owen removes the pulp, the root canal is cleaned and sealed off to protect it. Then Dr. Owen places a crown over the tooth to help make it stronger.
Most of the time, a root canal procedure can be done with little or no discomfort involving one to three visits. Best of all, it can save your tooth and your smile!
Restorative Dentistry: Fillings, Crowns, Bridges,
Dentures
Dr. Owen provides excellent restorative dental care. If your teeth are
damaged or decayed, crowns may be constructed to restore them back to their
original form. If you have missing teeth, a bridge may be utilized. These
restorations are cemented onto the teeth and are referred to as "fixed"
dentistry as opposed to a restoration of missing teeth with a removable
appliance or partial denture.
